  • Tai Chi open classes, Geraldton

    Tuesday, 21 January
    To mark the 50th anniversary of Taoist Tai Chi, the Geraldton branch is holding two open classes free for anyone in the community to try tai chi.

    The classes will be on: - Tuesday 21 January 2020 from 7 to 8am at Marina Park on the foreshore at the end of Stella Maris Drive - Wednesday 22 January 2020 from 5.30 to 6.30pm at the Wave sculpture near the intersection of Foreshore Drive and Cathedral Avenue

  • Nannup Family Fun Day, Nannup

    Tuesday, 21 January
    The 2020 Go for 2 & 5 Nannup Family Fun Day is celebrating its tenth year and promises to be the biggest yet.

    Tuesday 21st of January will see Foreshore Park in Nannup convert into theme park where young people come together with their families and enjoy amazing entertainment and activities on offer. The setting, next to the Blackwood River, has plenty of shady areas to sit and relax and enjoy the day or enjoy the many activities on offer catering for ages 0 -15 years.

    This event also becomes a great space for young local performing artists to form part of the live music entertainment.

    Along with the live entertainment there will be a fantastic range of activities such as the Giant Water Slide, Climbing Wall, Bungee Trampoline, High Ropes Course, Chill Out Tent, Mountain Bike workshop, Art & Craft Workshop, a Possum Garden Workshop and loads more.

    A feature this year will be a new waterslide, making it a total water playground for one day!

    There is a dedicated 0-6 play area with the Lions train, misting tent, sand pit, bouncy castle and WA Playgroup activities. All activities including a healthy lunch, are fully inclusive in the event ticket price.

    Nannup Family Fun Day promises to provide an affordable day out for the whole family so bring your water bottle, bathers, towel, sunscreen and hat for a great day out.

  • Movies at Cape Mentelle Bushfire Fundraising Night, Margaret River

    Wednesday, 22 January
    From the ashes of despair, people across the country are really coming together to raise the necessary money to help rebuild the affected communities.

    Cape Mentelle management and staff hope you will join us for a movie screening fundraiser for the bushfire crisis.

    All bar, and ticket sales proceeds will be donated to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Recovery and Relief and Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service (WIRES).

    As the sun goes down and the stars come out, the Cape Mentelle gardens transform into an outdoor cinema beside the iconic vines. With cult favourites and box-office hits projected on the big screen and the spectacular natural environment as the backdrop, it's the ideal recipe for the perfect summer evening.

    Arrive early to experience the stunning Margaret River sunset and truly seize the night with gourmet food matched with your favourite bottle of Cape Mentelle wine.

  • Busselton Half Marathon and Fun Run, Vasse

    Saturday, 8 February
    This event comprises a half marathon (21.1km), 10km run and 5km fun run/walk.

    Our event is unique in that it follows the calm waters of Geographe Bay with a return leg that has full views of and highlights the iconic Busselton Jetty.

    The Event Ambassador is Brant Garvey, who is an Australian leg amputee paratriathlete.

    Brant represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics when paratriathlon made its debut at the Paralympics. Brant will be participating in the event and will also be a guest speaker at a special buffet dinner on the evening of the event.

    Registrations open 1 October 2019 for both the event and dinner.

  • 38th Barrett Bunbury Swim Thru, Bunbury

    All profits are donated to the City of Bunbury Surf Life Saving Club.

    The 38th Barrett Bunbury Swim Thru, presented by City of Bunbury Surf Life Saving Club (Inc) Old Boys Club, will be held in the Leschenault Inlet, Bunbury on Saturday 29th February 2020.

    The 1.6km will commence from and finish at the Bunbury Rowing Club.

    Registrations will take place between 1.30pm-2.30pm, followed by a mass start at 3pm.

    Entry is $30 and closes Friday 28th February. Entries on the day are $35. Entry includes a BBQ at the Bunbury Rowing Club.

    Cash prizes.
