  • WA State Country Water Polo Championships, West Busselton

    Friday, 1 March
The Busselton Water Polo Association is hosting the 2019 State Country Waterpolo Championships at the Geographe Leisure Centre.

After the success of the 2014 W.A. Country Water Polo Championships, we are honoured to be approved by the Western Australian Water polo Association to host this event in 2019 in our own home town, Busselton.

The event will be held over 3 days during the long weekend in March drawing in up to 13 competitors per team for both men and women and many spectators coming from regional centres across WA including Port Hedland, Geraldton, Bunbury, Mandurah, Karratha and Albany.

This is the fifth year that Busselton has hosted this annual event being held at the Geographe Leisure Centre. We are planning a special King Shoot competition prior to the finals to profile some of the hottest shots in the game.

The presentation of the prize for this will be an opportunity to recognise the community support for the event in general. We hope this will promote waterpolo and encourage new players as well as increase spectator participation and enjoyment.

Fully supported by Busselton Water Polo Association and its few voluntary committee members. Our Association is a non-profit organisation, run by volunteers, players and parents.

  • In Between Two, Bunbury

    Thursday, 7 March
Two trailblazing stars of the Australian music scene survey the forces that have shaped their lives.

Like an hour with good friends—who just happen to have impeccable taste in tunes— this is a show that keeps to the beat of the human heart.

Joelistics and ARIA-nominated producer James Mangohig are icons of Australian hip-hop, but their family histories are as complex and layered as their lyrics.

In Between Two comprises two charismatic performers telling their stories through live music performance and spoken word against a backdrop of two screens which carry mapped projections of photographs, graphics, video and home movie footage.

  • pvi collective: deviator, Bunbury

    Tuesday, 12 March
Prepare for city-wide disruption as the streets of Bunbury CBD are taken over, one game at a time, by deviator.

Using a smartphone guide this immersive, outdoor game invites audiences to temporarily transform Bunbury into a playground.

Adapted on-site with a team of local artists, deviator activates philosophies around the revolution, positioning ‘games’ as a potential trigger to alter the official narratives of place.

As a deviator, your mission is to seek out and activate fifteen audio instructions hidden in public spaces and play as many of the games as possible.

Suitable for people aged 15+ any audience members under the age of 18 will be required to provide written permission of a parent or guardian.
